Quick answer

What is functional food ERP software?

Functional food ERP software is business software built around how a health food plant works. Formezy records every ingredient and premix lot with its certificate of analysis, formulation versions with label and allergen data, dispensing and blending against each batch, in-process and finished-product tests, and the batch code on every pack, so the ingredients behind any pack can be traced.

Formulations that change without a record

Formulations are versioned and approved, and each batch is made to the approved version, with label and allergen data kept alongside.

Costly actives in small quantities

Vitamins, minerals, proteins and botanical extracts are dispensed by weight against the batch, so every gram is accounted for and costed.

Batch release done on paper

In-process and finished-product results are recorded against the batch, and stock stays on hold until quality releases it.

Segments

Built for every functional food segment

3 segments, each with its own shop-floor process flow.

Nutraceutical powders

Protein powders, health drink mixes and supplement powders. Track ingredient lots and certificates, dispensing, blending, fill weights and batch release.

See the 8-step flow

Protein & health bars

Protein, granola, nut and millet bars. Track binder cooking, mixing, slab forming, cutting losses, enrobing and flow-wrapping, with allergen and label data.

See the 8-step flow

Fortified foods

Fortified flour, rice, edible oil, salt and other staples with added vitamin and mineral premixes. Track premix lots and dosing rates, mixing, sampling and testing of the fortified output.

Questions

Functional Food ERP: common questions

Still have a question?

Talk to a food ERP specialist about your own plant and process route.

Which functional food segments does Formezy support?

Formezy supports nutraceutical powders, protein & health bars and fortified foods, each with its own process flow. Plants that combine segments run them in one system.

Can Formezy keep formulations confidential?

Formulations are stored with role-based access, so only the people you choose can see full recipes. Formezy is built on the OpenLogic framework, which is designed to keep recipes and trade secrets confidential.

How are formulation changes controlled?

Each change creates a new version that has to be approved before it can be used. Every batch records the version it was made to, so you can always see which formulation was used for any pack.

Does it store certificates of analysis?

Yes. The supplier's certificate of analysis is attached to each ingredient lot at receipt, alongside your own incoming test results, and stays linked to every batch that lot goes into.

Does it keep label and allergen data?

Yes. Each formulation carries its ingredient list, allergen information and the nutrition values you enter, and the label data used at packing comes from the approved version.

Can quality hold and release batches?

Yes. Finished batches stay on hold until test results are entered and someone with the quality role releases them. Held stock cannot be picked for dispatch.

Does it help with FSSAI records for health foods?

Formezy keeps the records a licensed manufacturer is usually asked for, such as ingredient lots and certificates, formulations, batch records, test results and dispatch details. Meeting the regulations, including FSSAI rules for health supplements and nutraceuticals, depends on your products and processes.
