Quick answer

What is snack ERP software?

Snack ERP software is business software built around how a snack plant runs. Formezy records each raw-material lot and its incoming tests, the recipe and frying or roasting loss of every batch, oil use, seasoning, metal-detector checks, fill weights and date codes at packing, and the distributor each batch went to, so stock, yield and cost stay current.

Yield lost between kettle and pouch

Raw material issued, frying or roasting loss, broken pieces and packed output are booked per batch, so yield is visible by product, line and shift.

Frying oil left to guesswork

Oil top-ups, oil discarded and the oil checks your team runs are recorded per fryer and shift, so oil used per kilogram of product is known.

Pouches that cannot be traced

Every pouch carries a batch and date code linked to its raw-material lots, so a complaint traces back to the flour, oil and seasoning used.

Segments

Built for every snack segment

3 segments, each with its own shop-floor process flow.

Namkeen & fried snacks

Bhujia, sev, mixtures and fried dals made from gram flour, pulses and spices. Track besan and oil lots, dough recipes, frying loss per batch, blend ratios for mixtures and pouches packed per line.

See the 8-step flow

Chips & extruded snacks

Potato chips, wafers and extruded or puffed snacks made from corn, rice and other grits. Track potato lots, peeling and slicing loss, fryer and extruder runs, seasoning dosage and nitrogen-flushed packing.

See the 8-step flow

Roasted nuts & seeds

Roasted peanuts, chana, cashews, almonds and seeds, plain, salted or masala. Track crop lots and aflatoxin results, sorting rejects, roasting loss, flavour coating and packed output.

How Formezy runs a snack plant

Choose a segment, then a step. Each one shows what happens on the shop floor, what Formezy records, and what changes as a result.

  1. On the shop floor

Gram flour, pulses, edible oil, spices and printed laminate received and weighed

    In Formezy ERP

GRN posts supplier lot, weighbridge or scale weight and the supplier's certificate of analysis

    Weight Integration module

    Shop-floor impact

Every lot known at the gate

  2. On the shop floor

Samples checked for moisture, foreign matter and odour; oil checked against its specification

    In Formezy ERP

Results recorded against the lot; failed lots put on hold and kept apart from released stock

    Quality Control module

    Shop-floor impact

Only released lots reach the floor

Quality gate. If it fails: keep the lot on hold, return it to the supplier and record the rejection.

  3. On the shop floor

Besan, spices, salt and water mixed to the recipe

    In Formezy ERP

Approved recipe issued with the batch; actual weights booked against the lots used

    Production & Purchase module

    Shop-floor impact

    Recipe followed, cost known

  4. On the shop floor

Dough pressed through the sev or bhujia press into the fryer at the set oil temperature

    In Formezy ERP

Input and output weights, fryer, oil temperature readings and oil top-up recorded per batch

    IoT & Automation module

    Shop-floor impact

    Frying loss per batch

  5. On the shop floor

Fried components, nuts and dals blended into mixtures and seasoned

    In Formezy ERP

Blend ratios and seasoning issued against the batch; allergen-containing ingredients such as peanuts flagged on the batch record

    Production & Purchase module

    Shop-floor impact

    Every mixture to ratio

  6. On the shop floor

Product passes the metal detector before or after packing; test pieces are checked at the start of each shift and at set intervals

    In Formezy ERP

Test-piece checks and rejects recorded against the batch as a critical control point record

    ISO & HACCP module

    Shop-floor impact

    CCP record per batch

Quality gate. If it fails: stop the line, hold everything packed since the last good check and re-screen it.

  7. On the shop floor

Pouches filled, sealed and coded with batch, packing date and best-before date

    In Formezy ERP

Fill weights sampled and recorded; batch code and best-before date taken from the batch record

    Weight Integration module

    Shop-floor impact

    Right weight, right code

  8. On the shop floor

Cartons picked for distributors by route

    In Formezy ERP

First-expiry-first-out picking, invoice, e-way bill and batch numbers on every dispatch

    Logistics & Dispatch module

    Shop-floor impact

    Batch-wise dispatch record

Questions

Snacks ERP: common questions

Still have a question?

Talk to a food ERP specialist about your own plant and process route.

Which snack segments does Formezy support?

Formezy supports namkeen & fried snacks, chips & extruded snacks and roasted nuts & seeds, each with its own process flow. Plants that combine segments run them in one system.

Can Formezy calculate frying loss and yield per batch?

Yes. Raw material issued and the weight after frying or roasting are recorded per batch, along with broken pieces and rejects, so loss and yield are calculated per batch, product, line and shift.

How does it record frying oil?

Oil added, oil discarded and the oil checks your team performs, such as free fatty acid or total polar compounds, are recorded per fryer and shift. Oil used per kilogram of product then comes straight from the records.

Does it support metal-detector checks?

Yes. Metal detection can be set up as a critical control point in the ISO & HACCP module. Test-piece checks and rejects are recorded against each batch, and a failed check holds everything packed since the last good one.

Can I trace a pouch back to its raw materials?

Yes. The batch code on the pouch links to the packing run, the frying batch, the recipe and the raw-material lots used, and forward to the distributors who received that batch.

Does it manage best-before dates and first-expiry-first-out?

Yes. Best-before dates come from each product's shelf life, stock is picked first-expiry-first-out, and near-expiry stock appears in alerts so it can be sold or cleared in time.

Can it handle route and distributor dispatch?

Yes. Orders are grouped by route and distributor, with invoices, e-way bills and batch numbers on every dispatch, and returns are recorded by reason.
